Aesthetically, Zemaitis guitars are most immediately known for the way in which their bodies look. Otherwise, most Zemaitis guitars are standard 6-string, 24-fret guitars that come in both left-handed and right-handed versions although there are some models that have only 22 frets.

The neck is generally made of mahogany and the body is made of rosewood. Both are known to be sturdy and reliable wood types.
