The Jordan Mars 270 Shattered Backboard's combination of a tri-toned midsole with a tar-black center and a chalk-white outsole gives the shoe a more aerodynamic look than others in the series. A starfish-colored Jumpman, embroidered into the tongue, matches the perforated leather insert on the forefoot. These Jordan Mars 270s also have a large air pocket that starts out slim at the back of the arch and progressively expands to its widest point in the heel's center. Although the outsole's bottom has a thin, treaded design under the aforementioned air pocket, the bottom of these Jordan Mars 270s has much thicker rubber padding on the front half. The large swoosh in the Jordan Mars 270 Shattered Backboard colorway is also unique in that it starts off grey on a white body near the back but turns white as it reaches the black mesh diamond in the center.
