A variety of engine styles were available during the 1960s on Ford F-250 pickups. You can find in-line six options, including the 223 CID Mileage Maker I6, the 262 CID Mileage Maker I6, the 240 CID I6, and the 300 CID I6. Additionally, straight-six options were available, including the 240 CID Straight-6 and the 300 CID Straight-6. V8 options were also available, including the 352 CID FE V8, the 360 CID FE V8, the 390 CID FE V8, and the 302 CID Windsor V8. The Windsor engine was only available in the Mexico market.

Were any diesel engines put in Ford F-250 pickups?

Yes, Ford built F-250 pickups with diesel engines starting in 1994 after they were initially test-marketed in Mexico. All the diesel engines were part of the Ford Power Stroke engine series with 7.3-liter diesel engines in use until mid-2003. Six-liter engines replaced them until 2008 when Ford starting installing 6.4-liter engines. Since 2011, F-250 engines have been 6.7 liters.
